Job Title: Roof Estimator / Outside Salesman

Summary: Estimates/Sells roofing and other construction services to residential and commercial customers by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
· Meets with already set up sales leads which EIC has secured from advertising in newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
· Explains roofing/siding/gutters services, using samples and emphasizes salable features
· Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares estimates (bids) and sales contracts for services obtained.
· Estimates scheduled date of service to customer, based on knowledge from Customer Service/Project management as to where the customer sits on the job schedule.
· Prepares work orders for sold jobs and keeps enters precise expense data within the proper Excel spreadsheets for each job sold.
· Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer Excel spreadsheet.
· Develops and maintains relationships with customers that receive bids (sales leads) and customers that sign with EIC (sold jobs).
· Investigates and resolves customer problems promptly by being present at each job site.
· Communicates with Customer Service, Project Management, Customers, Crews, and other employees for each job in order to maintain smooth transition from a job sold to job completed and paid for.
· Pick up customer checks within 24 hours of job completion (set up by the salesman and scheduling dept.).
· Compiles accurate and timely sales reports. These are to be reported monthly to management for analysis. (Accurate sales reports are essential to the growth of the business and the percent commission and designated territory for each salesman)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Manage 2-6 subordinate supervisors (Crew Foreman) who supervise a total of 2-6 Crew Employees in the Roofing Crew, Siding Crew, Gutter Crew and Flat Roofing Crew
· Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Competencies (Cont’d):
Smoking – Permitted, but, strictly prohibited inside company vehicles; must refrain from smoking 15 minutes before meeting with customers or other staff. We maintain a smoke free environment inside EIC offices.
Qualifications:

· Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Explorer and Outlook (Email) Internet software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.

- Must be able to climb a ladder 3 - 4 stories on a steep pitch.
- Can NOT be afraid of heights.
- Ability to speak and/or understand Spanish is a positive.
· Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel outside the State of Iowa.
